Aventience Privacy Notice

What this notice covers
This notice explains what information Aventience collects when you visit this website, download the public sample, or contact us — and what we do with it. Aventience is a small, early-stage company, and this notice is correspondingly short: it covers only what the site actually does today. As Aventience adds features, this notice will be expanded and republished to cover them before they go live, not after.
If you're looking for the terms under which purchased data may be used, this notice isn't that document — that's a separate license question, currently in progress separately and not yet finalized.
Information we collect
Contact and inquiry information. If you email us, use a "Contact us" or "Customize your order" link on this site, or otherwise reach out — including a general question, a partner-program inquiry, or a request related to the public sample — we receive whatever you choose to send us: typically your name, email address, company or organization, and the content of your message. We use this only to read, understand, and respond to your inquiry.
Server and access logs. Like essentially every website, ours generates standard technical logs automatically as part of normal hosting operation: things like your IP address, the date and time of your visit, the pages or files you requested, and your browser's user-agent string. We did not build a custom system to collect this — it is generated by the infrastructure that serves this website, and we use it only for security, detecting and preventing abuse, and basic operational troubleshooting. We keep this information only for as long as it's actually useful for those purposes, rather than indefinitely.
Sample downloads. Aventience publishes a small, free, fixed data sample so you can evaluate the schema before buying anything. Depending on exactly how the download is finally set up, this may involve nothing more than an anonymous file download, or it may ask for an email address first. We don't yet have that mechanism finalized well enough to describe it more specifically here — this section will be updated once it is, rather than us guessing now. Either way, we do not use a sample download to build a profile of you beyond what's needed to operate the download itself (for example, letting you know if the sample changes, if you provided an email for that purpose).
Analytics. This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a lightweight traffic-measurement tool built into Cloudflare, the infrastructure provider that hosts this website. It measures aggregate usage — things like how many people visit each page, roughly where visitors are located, and how quickly pages load — without using cookies or other persistent tracking identifiers, and without tracking you across other websites. We use it only to understand whether this site is reaching anyone and to catch performance problems; we do not use it to build a profile of any individual visitor, and we do not share this data with any other analytics or advertising vendor. If we add a different or additional analytics tool in the future, we will update this notice first, describing specifically what it collects and why — not after. Any basic technical logging described above under "Server and access logs" is separate from this; it's the ordinary operation of the web server itself, not the analytics tool.
This notice covers every category of information this website actually collects today. As Aventience's site and product evolve, any new category of information will be added here, and this notice will be updated and republished before that happens — not after.
How we use it
We use the information above only for the plain purposes already described next to each category: responding to what you send us, keeping the site secure and working, and — if you provided one — communicating with you about a sample you downloaded. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Who has access
Aventience is a small team right now. The people who see contact/inquiry information and server logs are the people who need to see them to do the things described above — responding to your message, or keeping the site running securely. We do not have a data broker relationship, an advertising-technology vendor, or any third party we routinely hand your information to. If that ever changes — for example, if we bring on a support tool or a data processor to help run part of the site — we'll update this notice to say so before it happens, including who they are and why.
Your choices
You're always welcome to:
- Ask us a question about what we have on file for you, using the contact address below.
- Ask us to correct or delete information you submitted to us directly (for example, a contact-form message), and we will honor that request unless there's a good reason we need to keep it (for example, an ongoing conversation you started, or a legal obligation).
- Unsubscribe from any follow-up — if we ever contact you after an inquiry, you can simply reply and say you'd rather not hear more, and we'll honor that.
Aventience is early-stage and these requests are handled by a person, by hand — not through an automated self-service system. We'll get back to you.

Changes to this notice
Aventience is a young company and this website will grow. We expect to update this notice as we add new features that collect new kinds of information, rather than after. When we make a material change, we'll update the effective date above and, where practical, note what changed.
